Food book

What you need: scissors, food boxes, hole punch, yarn

To Make: Cut off the fronts and backs of food boxes. Punch holes along the left side and fasten the pages together with yarn.

To Use: Use the food books to talk with children about different foods.

For variations of this activity you can use healthy foods, cold foods, hot foods, etc. to discuss with children the importance of healthy eating. Talk about the different types of foods available and how we get them (farm, store, ocean, etc.).

This is a great activity for children to do with help from the adult. Let the children pick out the food boxes they want to cut (with adult assistance). Then they can organize their book on their own, with assistance on tying the book together.
